My encounter with Samsung was not a good encounter. The Samsung support center are the most blundering set-up I have ever come across. I took advantage of the latest discount on a range of Samsung plasma television and ordered a wall-mounted model at their website. I had subscribed the top sky TV package to compliment with it since I was going to start getting buddies over once a week for the football and imagined it would be marvelous for the World Cup in the June period as the clubs would be crowded and it would be certainly costly. On the afternoon that my television was supposed to be delivered I had a call from the payment team at Samsung. It seemed my bank were rejecting to remit the payment so I phoned my bank and examined them on the rejection to which they clarified that the payment had not been rejected and it might be an issue with Samsung. I rang Samsung later and clarified them that my bank was all right but he still persisted Samsung could not capture the money I became so baffled with them that I told them to call off the deal and I would purchase a TV from the shop. The cancellation was not met with much objection cause they were not able to make any deduction anyway. Another two months later I had a delivery which I had to sign for. It was a workday so my next-door mate took care of the signature. That delivery-man had left the huge package on the communal hallway with no a care of it could potentially be fire hazard, I was befuddled as to who could have ordered this delivery. The minute I opened it up, I found out that it was the television which I had originally placed at Samsung’s website. My new television, which I ordered from the shop, had been firmly mounted on the wall, obviously I was the fortunate beneficiary of this free television due to some result of some cock-up in the Samsung’s delivery processing system as the earlier reversal was due to the fact that they couldn’t deduct money from my credit card. No such luck. Out of nowhere Samsung had reactivated the order and taken £3500 from my bank account which had made me seriously overdrawn and dishonestly sent me television which I already purchased, this was definitely unfair consumer practice – taking money from my bank without asking! I spent 3 months and around 50 phone calls simply to convince Samsung to reverse the debit item but I had already incurred around £200 as overdraft interest.
