Halloween Party Ideas for a Spooky Holiday

Filed under: Baker's Dozen, Fun Place, Lifestyle Resources — admin @ 2:32 pm

Halloween is the ideal time to throw a murder mystery party with friends! Not only is this one of the most terrific halloween party ideas out there, but the bonus is that friends will come decked out in costume! To get your guests in the mood, personalize a Halloween-themed invitation or produce your own in the shape of a bat, pumpkin or ghoul, and get ready for a night filled with mystery, fascination and murder. Colonel Mustard in the Kitchen with the Candlestick… Boo!

Turn your garage into a haunted house. Having your shed adorned as a haunted house is a great way to engage your friends with the theme of the party and will set the mood for the party. Having a costume contest at your Halloween party will ensure that everyone dresses in costume and will provide an extra bonus for your friends to think up with festive, creative costumes to wear to your fete. Since your guests are all going to be dressed in costumes, they will require a unforgettable way to remember their evening. Set up a photo booth at your Halloween celebration and have friends snap a photo as they walk in.

A witch is not quite as magical without her broom. If you have enough party room, organize broom races for your witches-in-training.
You’ll either require a large room (think finished basement or living room with the furniture cleared to side) or if it’s a nice, sunny autumn day, have your broom races on the lawn.Be sure you have at least one broom per party guest. Luckily, you probably have at least one or two in the house and you can get the rest at a dollar store. You can even ask each witch BYOB… Bring Your Own Broom (but do not forget to send it back home with her).

School vacations offer a wonderful chance for mothers and fathers to get their little girls in the open air to engage in fun, bonding activities. Be sure to kit out your little ones in the appropriate clothing when adventuring out of doors. Organic materials are highly tough and wash well, making them the ideal option for summer outings. Little girls are one of the highlights of any parent?s life on earth and as a result, you will want to make the most of every chance to indulge with them in bonding activities. The summer months gives a large amount of time and wonderful weather in which to get outside and savour parent/child adventures together. Camping, park outings and times reserved for arts and crafts will all be welcome pastimes for your little girl throughout their summer vacations. Camping. The great outside is most pleasurable when you can pitch a tent and stretch out your stay for an evening or two. Educate your little girls to pick constellations out of the clear night sky, show them how to fish in lakes and streams and tell them on productively navigating backcountry hiking trails. Camping gives an extended bonding experience between parents and their little girls, taking the family unit outside of the typical day-to-day routine and widening the horizons of your little ones in the lazy, hazy days of summer. Organic fibres breathe well in the heat of the sun and they’re simple to wash when it comes to getting out the dirt from rustic camping settings. Parks. If you do not have the time to get out of the city, numerous UK parks exist to provide young kids a place to run and play with their mothers and fathers and other little ones of the same age group. Giant slides, swings and monkey rings are just a few of the opportunities for play available at local parks. Furthermore, a lot of parks include grassy areas where you can sit and savour a picnic lunch with your little one. A whole day of adventure at very little cost awaits you and your family at one of the numerous parks in your neighborhood. Arts and Crafts. You don’t need to go any further than the front lawn to savour a day of arts and crafts in the sunshine. Whether it is making collages for the living room or melting down crayons to produce ?stained glass? art pieces to hang in the windows, arts and crafts are the ideal summer activity to bond mothers and fathers and their little girls. The best part of staging arts and crafts set ups in front of your home is that small breaks inside can be a part of the day; allowing for snacks, potty breaks, naps and clean up times. Ensure to kit out your little girls in the proper clothing while doing any of the above mentioned activities, so that you do not ever have to get worried about undue wear and tear while out having fun. Side Pot Strategy

Filed under: Fun Place, Internet Gambling, Online Games — admin @ 1:36 pm

When a no limit poker online player goes all-in behind a bigger bet, then the dealer has to create a “side pot” which designates the main pot that the short stack can win, and then a side pot that other Everest Poker telecharger players who still have chips can continue to build with bets.

When there is a side pot, the short stack is out of running for the side pot. Often the battle for the side pot is a heads-up action. The side pot can grow to be substantial too and it is often worthwhile to create a substantial side pot if you’ve got a strong online poker hand.

For instance, perhaps the short stack went all-in with K-Q suited and makes the nut flush when an Ace of that suit hits on the turn to make a three-card flush on board. If you’re holding the Jack of that suit, you can complete a better flush than any opponent still in the side pot. It’s worth betting and attempting to scoop the side pot right away and worthwhile to draw to another suited card, especially if you’ve already hit a strong hand, like two pair or trips.

When a player with a short stack goes all-in, and you’ve got strong cards, then isolating the all-in with a bigger bet can create side pot action that proves profitable even if the all-in wins the main pot.

Winning Hands: Slow Play an Aggressive Table

Filed under: Fun Place, Internet Gambling, Online Games — admin @ 9:15 am

When you draw a winning hand against a poker table full of aggressive opponents, you’re in luck, because you’re starting at a bunch of players who are going to be happy to donate to your pot. I’ve got a weekly poker game that’s generally populated with some pretty aggressive players; they’re always happy to buy up a pot as soon as they smell weakness, so I usually don’t have to think twice when I draw a winning hand.

If you’ve got the nuts and you’re at a particularly aggressive poker table, you probably don’t have to worry about whether or not they’ll be betting, all you need to consider is how you can encourage them to bet. Think about how you’ve been playing: if you’ve been playing tight, continue to do so even when you’re winning. A check will show weakness to your opponents, encouraging them to bet into you. If you’ve been caught trying to bluff a few times, your opponents may be likely to smell a bluff and call you (or if you’re lucky, reraise you). Once you know how to get your opponents to join in with you, try to keep them betting until you’ve got them pot-commited, then push them all in and try not to grin too much when you rake in their stacks.

Mistakes – Checking down vs Bluffing a Dry Side Pot

Filed under: Fun Place, Internet Gambling, Online Games — admin @ 12:17 am

Mistakes – Checking down vs bluffing a dry side pot By rob stephens I was playing in a poker tournament the other day and a short stack shoved all-in. Two players called him. After the flop one of the players bet and the other folded ace high. The online poker player who bet had made top pair of a jack with KJ. The short stack had nothing and ended up losing. The interesting part was that the other poker online player was upset that they did not check the hand down. “I always check it down when someone is all in” he said. This common misconception frustrates me. Unless it’s a money bubble or pay jump, why would you ever want to slow play a hand in hopes of knocking a player out? With top pair he’s already likely to be in the lead. What is the benefit of losing a player in the middle of a tournament? If you like your table and don’t want to get split up or have another player moved into the empty spot, it might actually behoove you to keep the short stack alive. Anyway, the automatic check down misconception bugs me. Conversely, some people disregard it completely when money is on the line. I was in another game, a SNG, where a guy bluffed dry side pot on a 3 way hand with the short stack all on the money bubble. He had QJ for queen high and the short stack won with king high, K-3. I folded K-7, which missed the flop but would have chopped with the short stack. Instead the short stack tripled and we prolonged the bubble, to no one’s advantage but the short stack. Without a side pot, the bluffing player stood to win nothing if queen high wasn’t good. Even if it was good, the short stack was guaranteed to see the turn and river and perhaps draw out. He had no draw, so there was no reason to try and build a pot in hopes of locking up a big score on later streets. Some people just don’t understand why they do what they do.

Good Poker Players Are Pretty Smart Guys

Filed under: Fun Place, Internet Gambling, Online Games — admin @ 11:08 am

Good Poker Players Are Pretty Smart Guys Sometimes, I like to think that poker online is all about the luck. Deep down though, I know that this isn’t true. I know that this is just a bitter little voice in the back of my head that is disappointed in the fact that I have been outplayed once again. Make no mistake about it. When I lose at a poker game, I am simply outplayed by someone who knows more than I do. I have come to the uncomfortable realization of late that good poker players are pretty smart guys. As much as it pains me to say it, they may even be smarter than me. Good poker players have these naturally high levels of intelligence that allow them to calculate pot odds, read the table, and internalize new playing styles all in the time it takes me just to read my cards. The truly top notch players have razor sharp card knowledge that one really only sees at high rank universities. Sure, I am sure that some of it can be learned. People can learn to count cards or calculate pot odds. But I still believe, given the amount of times that I have been outwitted and outplayed, that the best poker players are just an intellectual cut above.

Palm Trees in the Tropics

Filed under: Fun Place, Recreation Infos, Regional — admin @ 12:32 pm

Who just loves the trees in the tropics? When the weather is hot and the sun is just beating down like no other you really want to turn to the palm tree to give you some shade. The leaves that they have are the best for blocking the sun. They are shaped in a way that works to totally keep it out.

They are not only good for keeping the sun out; they also make for a good roof to keep the rain out. With a house in the tropics the rain can come down like a waterfall and when this happens you want something on the roof that protects everything inside the house. It can be tough work putting it together because they have to put high up, so keeping your lower back healthy is very important. Drinking a lot of water is important out there in the tropics because you can lose so much from the sweat.

The coconuts are a luxury when it is so hot out and humid. They not only have water in side of them, but they also have sugar and some edible food. If you are ever stranded on an island you will want to go ahead and climb one of these trees and get down a few of these coconuts.

Three-of-a-kind

Filed under: Fun Place, Internet Gambling, Online Games — admin @ 4:00 pm

While a huge part of every poker hand takes place before the flop, the flop is where the majority of the conjecture ends. When the first three cards come out every online poker player at the table knows what his starting hand is worth, and even then, there’s a pretty high level of uncertainty. Even a good like three-of-a-kind poker online pair can be cracked pretty easily if you’re not careful. If you draw trips, you’re looking good, but you can still be cracked. Here are a few things to think about if you make a set. The best-case scenario is when you have a pocket pair and you hit a set on the flop. If you’ve got pocket 9’s and the flop comes out 9-A-5 with no flush possibility, you’re sitting pretty. Without a pair on the board and no flushes or straights out there, you’ve got a good chance of winning. If you don’t have a pocket pair, but you draw two cards for a set, you’re at a higher risk of being cracked. If you have A-9 and the flop comes out 9-9-Q, because if any of your opponents has 9-Q, she’ll have you beat. It’s not very likely, but it can happen, so bet and raise, but keep an eye out for a full boat on the table.

Learn to Pay Attention

Filed under: Fun Place, Internet Gambling, Online Games — admin @ 10:28 am

Poker is supposed to a game for alert people. I thought that this was a generally understood concept until that I realized that there are a lot of people signing up for poker online games these days who just don’t follow the action. While this is annoying enough in an online poker, it is particularly vexing when this happens in a live game. There is no automatic action button to press when you play a live game. It should be pretty obvious why you need to pay attention at the poker table, but let’s recap the reasons so that I will not have to sit through another poker game with new players with their heads in the clouds.

When you pay attention to the game and know when you are supposed to act, than you keep the game going at a steady speed. If you slow down the game, no one at the table will appreciate it very much. You will get many unsavory looks from your fellow players if you slow the game down to a snail’s pace because you are not paying attention. An added perk of actually paying attention to the game that you are paying to play is that you will not lose out on any potential winnings. If you are not paying attention and don’ realize that you have won, than you don’t get the money. The lure of some cold hard cash should be enough to get you paying attention.

My Bad Beat

Filed under: Fun Place, Internet Gambling, Online Games — admin @ 12:36 pm

Losing to a bad beat never fun-it’s pretty awful feeling to have done everything right and have the online poker cards turn on you at the last minute. On the other side of things, it can be pretty awkward to win with a bad beat. There’s an odd mixture of elation and regret that comes along with sucking out. A few weeks ago, I was playing poker online at a home game, and eventually I ended up playing head’s up for first place. After trading the poker online chip lead around a few times, I was ahead. I got a decent hand, decided to go all in, and my opponent quickly called. I turned over my King-10 of Hearts, and my opponent turned over an Ace-King unsuited, pretty much burying my hand. The flop came out Ace-King-Jack, the turn was a 5, and just as I was getting ready to get up, the Queen came out, giving me the straight to beat his two pair. I was happy to have won, and the thrill of good luck was exhilarating, but I felt like I had ripped my opponent off. Luckily, he was (and remains) a good sport, congratulated me on my win, and accepted my apologies for the bad beat.
