Nourishing Weight Loss Is Sweeter with Fresh Fruit

Filed under: Beauty And Skin Care Products, Health Tips, Nutrition Tips — admin @ 5:44 pm

Any person who’s trying to lose weight wants to succeed and wants the hard-earned weight loss to last. Successful weight loss will only endure when day-to-day diet and lifestyle habits are transformed. One of the optimal reasonable dietary choices we can make is fruit. Fresh fruit is a special food: fresh fruit is loaded with vitamins, minerals and immune boosting phytonutrients. Fruit contains water and supplies us with our daily hydration demands. Fruit is quite low in calories and fat; it is also high in dietary fiber. Fresh fruit is a natural cleanser, simple to fix, and can be eaten up almost anywhere anytime. In addition, fruit furnishes rapid nourishment.

Medical researchers examining nutrition and weight have learned that one of the best long term approaches to weight loss and management is to consume more fruit. Those who enjoy 5 servings of fruit per day drop significantly more weight from their dieting efforts and keep up their weight loss longer than dieters who have less than 2 pieces of fruit a day.

Did you know that our fat cells are a repository for toxins. A periodic and safe body detox will really help serve your weight loss program.

How the Liver Affects Weight Loss

Filed under: Beauty And Skin Care Products, Fitness Equipment, Health Tips — admin @ 1:00 am

Among the remarkable functions of your liver is the regulation of how our fat is burned and eliminated. Our liver likewise carries off excess fat out of the bloodstream via the gall bladder, which empties into the small intestines for elimination from the body. If the liver is harmed by toxic waste or congested with excessive waste product then its activity of eliminating fat from your bloodstream is sabotaged. If gone unchecked, the extra fat globules may then become stored in your body, around the organs and under the skin. The appearance of cellulite in the butt, upper thighs, arms and stomach area is directly associated to deficient metabolism and filtration of fat by the liver.

It could be very troublesome to lose weight until our liver function is restored. Once liver function is better, it will begin metabolizing fat effectively once again and one’s weight loss efforts won’t be stalemated. A sound liver cleanse is the most effective remedy for amending healthy liver function. You can do this by conducting an inventory of your diet and life style habits followed by the reduction or elimination of beverages, foods and other things you do that harm the liver. Then, a liver detox diet can be implemented, followed by a professional liver cleanse regimen.

One of the optimum liver cleanse programs is the lemon detox drink. Lemons and the other tart citrus fruits are very cleansing and cathartic for the liver.

A Fabulous Wedding Proclamation: Chicago Wedding Venues With Pop

Filed under: Beauty And Skin Care Products, Lifestyle Resources — admin @ 12:43 pm

What’s the purpose of a wedding and not putting your heart into every little detail? Let me to share with you the Cox family’s long wedding planning reputation. It’s possible that if you’re from around here you’re already familiar; we hold a lengthy tradition of hosting fantastic luxury weddings.

The wedding industry is our life. Our usual company include wedding designers, caterers, chefs and bands. My younger brother is a delightful wedding singer songwriter and cellist–and oh boy it’s impressive. Over the last few days I’ve browsed the best of wedding planners we found on: Chicago wedding venues. Of course, yours truly grew up around weddings. As a remarkable high class wedding planner who takes her job seriously, I am at long last working for myself, planning my luxury wedding with a lot of help from mother. Did I mention that I am madly in love. Anybody could see that I’ve been lifted off my out of orbit by the greatest man ever.

My mom, Chicago wedding planner partner friend and I, are party planners and besties forever. She a bit supportive of me and my man Chris. A few days ago, we got out the 1980s photographs of mother’s infamously tacky Dallas wedding. It was hilarious, but tastes evolve. There’s a lesson about classical design in that.

I can’t hardly restrain myself. Grandfather is so generous to be taking care of all the reservations, and all our friends and family will be at perhaps the most luxurious Chicago wedding reception halls! I dare not share the when and where obviously I don’t want any wedding crashers. It’s a great time to be alive, ringing in our love in style with those closest to us. We know the truth, that’s what a Chicago wedding is definitely about. Cheers to the chivalry of living.

Cheers,

Monica

Something You Definitely Want to Know about — Botulinum Injections Sydney

Filed under: Beauty And Skin Care Products — admin @ 11:19 am

Sydney Botulinum injections (Botox for short) has become ingrained amongst up-to-date Sydney society in fact it is becoming a grooming essential for individuals in the Harbour City. But I never fail to be amazed by the variety of urban legends and half truths that surround the procedure. Here I have outlines a few of the popular errors that I encounter daily at Star Cosmetic Medicine, where I am employed as a physician.

Mistake no. 1: My facial muscles might stiffen up!

There are 60 or so muscles below the skin of your face. Their relentless use over time can result in the formation of expression lines. If an excess of Botox is injected facial muscles can become too relaxed. Most doctors would use comparatively small doses to make you appear ‘refreshed’, nevertheless you will of course maintain your natural expression.

Thus by using small quantities of the preparation in just the right tissues one will have a reduction in the wrinkles without compromising facial expression.

Mistake no. 2: Botox is a poison!
This to some extent is right. Botulinum Toxin Type A is the correct pharmacological terminology. In large quantities it can loosen muscles that you do not want loosened and may cause serious illness.

But to put everything into perspective – an ancient pharmacist’s saying states that ‘everything is a poison – it all depends on the dose’. A large dose of any medicinal drug may result in illness. Water can kill you if too much is taken.

Mistake no. 3: Botox will sting!
Your hairs are thicker than the needles we use at Star Cosmetic Medicine. Some individuals liken the injections to bug bites. It for certain is not as painful as something like a vaccination.

Mistake no. 4: Botox will deaden my face!
This is totally wrong. Botulinum medicine works on the neuromuscular junction, and not on sensate nerve fibers. Just the ability to relax your muscles is affected by Botox.

Mistake no. 5. Once you begin getting Botox you need to continue otherwise you will have worse wrinkles than before!
Once More this is simply false.

The first treatment will be effective for around three months. Any treatments after the initial one normally last a little longer. The wrinkles will gradually re-emerge as the muscle recovers its strength. Nevertheless your wrinkles won’t be more pronounced than when you commenced your treatment.

Even if you never had Botox again – those lines will probably be a little less severe than if you hadn’t undergone the procedure. This, of course is primarily because your facial muscles and skin have had a ‘wrinkle holiday’ when the Botox was effective.

Breast Augmentation Is it Right for Me?

Breast augmentation is the most commonly-sought cosmetic procedure among women in the U.S.; in 2006 alone, nearly 330,000 women underwent this procedure.

You may be wondering if getting breast augmentation is a good idea. The fact is that ultimately, you are the only person that can make that determination. One thing we can tell you however is that the only person you should be worried about pleasing is that person in the mirror. Often, women would not otherwise choose to undergo a cosmetic procedure such as breast augmentation will do so simply in order to please their husbands or boyfriends in an attempt to hold their sexual interest. While this may be an effective short-term fix, the reality is that such a loss of interest is symptomatic of relationship issues and does not have anything to do with the woman’s appearance.

Anyway, if the man in your life is so shallow that his feelings for you is based on your bra size, is he really the sort of person you’d want to be with?

In the end, you must decide whether or not to undergo breast augmentation for your own personal reasons that are hopefully not tied to your sense of self-worth as a woman and a human being.

If you are currently breast-feeding, it is obviously not a good time to undergo breast augmentation. Also, if you are planning on having another child and breastfeeding her/him as well, you need to inform your physician of this. While breast enlargement surgery does not normally interfere with the breasts’ normal function, the fact that you are planning to nurse will have some bearing on the techniques and surgical options your doctor will use when performing the operation.

You should also be aware that although your doctor is thoroughly trained in the latest techniques in breast enlargement and reconstructive surgery and will use only the safest and most advanced implants available, there are no long-term guarantees. On rare occasions, implants will rupture or leak; they can also slip out of place. Correcting these problems requires additional surgery, time and expense.

Whenever undergoing elective surgery, whether it is breast augmentation, another cosmetic or reconstructive procedure or something else altogether, it is important to educate yourself about the procedure, and make sure you are having it done for your own reasons not those of someone else.

If you are in the Kansas City area, call for a consulation with a Kansas City Plastic Surgeon.

Availability of Hair Loss Treatments

Filed under: Beauty And Skin Care Products — admin @ 12:21 am

Hair loss and baldness can often affect self confidence, causing depression and lack of confidence. There can be many reasons causing hair loss such as genetics, age and hormonal imbalances. Nonetheless, people who suffer from baldness or thinning hair, have many hair loss solutions to choose from.

For the males, the doctor-prescribed drug, Propecia (generic name Finasteride) is an alternative. The drug lowers the levels of a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a chemical that causes balding. When consumed daily, Propecia lowers DHT levels by up to 60 percent. Approximately half of all men who consume Propecia regrow hair on their scalps.

Minoxidil (Rogaine) is an over-the-counter hair loss treatment for men and females. Research suggests Minoxidil works in around one out of every three men who apply the product twice daily. While the five-percent strength is not recommended for women, some physicians will prescribe the higher concentration. Patients applying the higher dose enhanced their hair growth.

Natural supplements are also favourable hair loss treatments. Flaxseed and primrose oils contain essential fatty acids that make hair look thicker and healthier. Vitamin B3, B5, and B6 also stimulate hair growth. Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Coenzyme Q10 stimulate hair follicles to improve scalp circulation. Zinc, Kelp and Copper boost immune functions, aiding hair growth.

Laser hair therapy (LHT) is another latest hair loss treatment approved for women and men. This hair loss treatment uses low-light lasers to repair damaged hair cells. Research suggest that about 90 percent of patients regrow hair. Laser hair therapy also prevents additional hair thinning and loss.

Currently, more hair loss treatments are available to treat male-pattern baldness. However, researchers are conducting studies to further understand which hair loss treatments work best for women. While many options exist, early intervention is the key to improving hair loss and regaining self confidence.

Liposuction: Sucking Money Out of Your Bank Account

Filed under: Beauty And Skin Care Products — admin @ 12:35 pm

Statistics show the stress of life and poor food choices are leading to ballooning weights. Liposuction is a popular method of reducing weight, but it will also reduce your bank account.

Liposuction: Sucking Money Out of Your Bank Account

A big consideration for many people who are looking to undergo plastic surgery is the expense. All procedures that fall under this type of surgery are usually not covered by health insurance. When deciding to have plastic surgery, you’ll need to know how much you will be spending. The expense of liposuction is especially important, as it is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures.

Liposuction is a procedure used to remove unwanted fat from areas of the body that cannot be treated by other means. The fat is vacuumed out through a small tube called a cannula, which is worked through a tiny incision in your skin. One of the first considerations in the expense of liposuction surgery is the area you are going to have worked on. Depending on the size of the area and the amount of fatty material needing to be removed, the price will vary. Most of the time, the more removal required, the higher the price of the liposuction. This is usually because it takes more time.

The expense of liposuction will also be different depending on the number of areas you want to have addressed. The first area in a liposuction procedure will often be the most expensive, with additional areas being less expensive because you have already paid for the facility, instrument, doctor and other fees.

Also to be factored into the expense is where the liposuction surgery will be performed. If you need to have your procedure done in a hospital versus in the plastic surgery office, there will be additional fees for the use of the hospital facility, and recovery rooms for the duration of your hospital stay. The expense of liposuction will also depend on what part of the country you are in. Some doctors in bigger cities or more popular plastic surgery areas will charge more money than surgeons in other locations. Frankly, it is because they can get it.

Finally, you want to find out what is included in the fee. Many doctors offer a “flat fee” that covers the procedure as well as pre-operative appointments and post-operative checkups. Other doctors will bill these items separately, so when pricing procedures, be sure to keep this in mind. One doctor may seem more expensive than the other, but if everything is included, it might actually even out.

In general, the expense of liposuction should run from $2,000 to $7,000. These figures, however, can vary wildly depending on what exactly is to be done and the part of the country you are in.

The Law Of Attraction And Relationships

Filed under: Beauty And Skin Care Products — admin @ 12:10 am

Have you ever had the experience of a stranger coming out of the blue and having a piece of information that you needed? Have you ever been steered away from making a mistake by a friend or stranger in the right place at the right time? Can you recall what this felt like?

Have you ever sensed your role in another person’s manifestation of an experience? You perhaps gave them something, or did something that felt right for you and for them was an uncanny coincidence. Have you ever found yourself in the right place to provide something important for another person? Perhaps you felt compelled to talk to a stranger and you had the piece of information they were looking for?

I call this interplay between individuals ‘Dancing.’ We dance with others during every day of our lives. When we are open and willing, we participate and assist in the manifestation of their experience and others do the same for us. Some of these experiences are positive, and we feel like we are in the very flow of life. Other experiences are more challenging, or even negative, and can leave us questioning how we came to attract such a negative or painful experience into our lives.

Law of Attraction and Relationships:

As a therapist, coach and individual, I have come to understand the Law of Attraction as an extremely powerful force which effects our lives, whether or not we are aware of how it is working at any one time. Simply put, what we give our focus, emotion, and attention, we attract into our lives. Moving towards deliberate attraction requires an awareness of our intention, attention and emotional state. In a sense, we move from subconsciously creating events in our lives to consciously and deliberately affecting our experience.

When talking about the law of attraction in relationships, several questions come up. These include: Can we attract a specific person into our lives? Am I responsible – did I attract – this abuse from my colleague, partner, friend, or family member? How can I attract the relationship I want?

One of the issues these questions have in common is a search for where our responsibility ends and another person’s begins.

Matching (Picking our Partners)

Everyone that you attract into our lives and engage with, are a match to something that you are vibrating at either a conscious or subconscious level.

If we want to know what you are vibrating, look at who you are attracting. It is a perfect match!

There are different kinds of matches to our vibrations. The most obvious is when we get a similar match.

Ideally, we want to feel empowered, optimistic and joyful and attract other empowered and optimistic people to us in all aspects of our life. When this happens, there is a sharing and connection that feels wonderful. It is a perfect match!

When feeling down, (low vibration), you may attract a friend who calls to complain about all the things they are down about. In this case, our low vibration is attracting someone of similar vibration. We will often engage with the person and stay at that low vibration or perhaps collectively go lower. How does this feel?

Other Matches

Have you ever had a friend or client stuck in a ‘victim vibration’ who seemed to attract abusive partners in their romantic or business relationships? Their vibration as a victim can be a match to a potential abuser. A second match to the ‘victim vibration’ is the rescuer. Rescuers, victims and abusers create what we know as the ‘victim’ or ‘drama’ triangle. These three roles vibrate matches to each other and individuals often get stuck moving from point to point in the triangle. In one relationship they may be the victim. IN the next, they mat be the rescuer or the abuser.

For example, many of the youth I have worked with in custody fall into this trap. They are often violent to ‘rescue’ a friend or to avenge a wrong. When caught, they feel victimized by police. When sentenced to custody, they feel like a victim of the justice system. They talk about getting even (offender role), blaming others for their situation (victim role) and wanting to stay with their boy or girl friend to keep them from getting into trouble (rescuer role). They continue to attract the same three matches into their lives and custody becomes a revolving door.

There are other less obvious variations of this triangle. Chronically sick individuals, very desperate or needy people, often vibrate matches for people who try to help them or use them in some way.

DRAMA TRIANGLE

Vulnerability

Most children and many adults live their lives unconscious of the law of attraction and the many other forces at work in creating their experience. Such people are unaware of the effect of their attention, focus and emotions. Their energy may be scattered rather than focussed and their emotions may be mixed and reactive. Such people are ‘vulnerable’ and can become unconscious participants in the more focussed and deliberate manifestation of others.

We know that most offenders pick their victims. This is a fact. They unconsciously or consciously match vulnerable children, adults, (banks etc.) at an intuitive level. Younger children, the elderly, or adults with disabilities are often chosen for this reason. Children, and some adults are then vulnerable to become part of a more deliberate plan and action by someone with greater intention, emotion and focus.

In addition, there are individuals who use these same laws of attraction to manifest power for themselves, or harm to others. They believe they are right, entitled, or are unconsciously driven to such experiences. In some cases their focus is collective and extremely powerful. Terrorists and other fear-based organizations are examples of this dynamic.

Free Choice

I once had a very amazing conversation with a Native teacher about the three concepts of destiny, potential, and free choice. To the best of my recollection, this is how he defined these concepts.

Destiny: Is an opportunity to fulfill a life’s purpose. It is a predetermined circumstance that will manifest at some point in life. Some Native groups believe that we are born with predestined challenges that were agreed upon by our ancestors before our birth. Other Native groups believe that there are ‘deals’ made with other souls before birth to be part of their enlightenment challenge here on earth.

Potential: When we are challenged, the experience has the potential to be a powerful healing or destructive force. If we rise to the challenge and act out of integrity and grace, we heal both present and past issues related to the event. If we fail the challenge, we hurt ourselves and others involved.

Free Choice: We all have free choice. This is why we cannot attract a person to us who does not want to engage with us. We choose whom we engage with and we choose our actions.

We attract matches into our lives. It is our choice to engage with them or not. We are responsible for our actions. They are responsible for what they choose to do.

As we become more aware, we can also consider matches and experiences as powerful information and feedback as to what we are vibrating. We can also choose to engage or not engage, stay or leave. We can also choose to use this information to move ourselves to a different level of vibration.

Implications for Law Of Attraction Practitioners

Working with Others

Many of my coaching and counseling clients have been engaged in some form of the drama triangle (above). I have found the Law of Attraction tools to be very helpful in teaching an awareness of their emotions and how they are affecting their experience. They can learn that when they are in a ‘poor me,’ or ‘victim’ vibration, they are going to attract matches and choose to engage or not. They also learn the importance of changing their vibration and witnessing a change in the people they attract. By choosing a different vibration, they become empowered and even begin to heal!

Implications for Practitioners and Coaches

For law of attraction practitioners and coaches, we put out the intention of assisting others and attract such experiences to ourselves in the form of clients. We offer ourselves as ‘helpers’ for individuals who are choosing to manifest events in their lives. This experience is often very intuitive and joyful. We feel like we are in the flow of life.

Have you also experienced this intention bubbling over to experiences outside of you practice as well?

At times, we will attract people who will want to elevate us to heroes and rescuers. They will say things like “no-one understands me but you.” “Without you I would be lost….” They want direct advice – for you to make the decisions. This however, does not empower, it keeps them in their comfortable ‘victim’ role. Counselors and coaches may become seduced into the role of rescuer and join the client in the drama triangle. How might this impact our lives outside of the office?

In Closing

As law of attraction practitioners and coaches, we can share powerful information and tools to empower others to make their own decisions and assume a new kind of responsibility in their relationships. We can empower others to dance with grace and integrity towards joyful and fulfilling relationships!

Tattoo Shops May Be Banned On Main Street

Westminster, MD (WJZ) ― Quaint and cozy is how Westminster describes its historic Main Street. Now, as WJZ’s Gigi Barnett reports, tattoo parlors that want to set up shop may be banned soon.

Westminster’s Main Street could be a slice of Americana. It has family-owned shops, small stores and beauty boutiques all open for business, but the one shop the town council wants to ban are tattoo parlors.

“I just wish they would see that it’s not going to be a bad thing. At least give it a shot,” said Jason Nightingale.Nightingale owns Tiki Tattoo. He’s fought the ban on downtown tattoo shops since it was first proposed.”They’re saying that we should be happy with the point that we’re allowed in 70% of the city limits, but 70% of the city limits are areas like high-dollar rent, shopping centers and malls. Downtown offers more affordable rent,” he said.Tattoo shop owners say the image of body art is changing.

More people are getting tattoos and that could draw more money to Main Street.”Times change and perceptions chnage. Once it gets to the masses, everyone decides it’s okay,” Nightingale said.”I think they should allow it. I’m coming to spend money in the town,” said Chris Gernand. The town council’s ordinance would ban any new parlors from setting up shop on Main Street. All of the existing ones would be grandfathered in. The town council says tattoo parlors just don’t fit the image of Main Street.”Restaurants and small shops.

That’s really the core of what we’re looking for,” said Westminster Town Councilmember Greg Pecoraro. But town councilmembers like Pecoraro who talked to Eyewitness News by phone say they have the backing of many people who don’t want tattoo shops on Main Street.”Most of the people who’ve contacted me who live in the city seem to think we’re doing the right thing,” Pecoraro said. The Westminster town council takes a vote on the tattoo issue on Feb. 12.
