Disney’s stageshow edition of the beloved classic ‘The Lion King’ is now on show in London’s West End. The performance mixes singing, dancing together with beautiful scenery and costumes to produce a dazzling show. Viewers will love hearing recognizable music from the movie, and even various brand-new songs written specifically for the musical adaptation. After everything considered, the Lion King Musical offers superb entertainment for all age groups. In the early 1990s, it sounded like the world of theatre was falling flat. Together with the expenses of putting on a musical theatre show increased heavily, few people were ready to shell out for expensive theatre tickets when they may just as conveniently visit the film theatre for a portion of the price. Thankfully, Disney rescued the deteriorating Broadway scene, first with a stage show rendition of Beauty in the Beast, and after that a stageshow of the Lion King. These days, this fancy modern musical can be seen at a multitude of venues, including the Lyceum Theatre, located in London’s West End. Here are five reasons why you must be present at this impressive show. 1. Appealing to All Age groups Clearly, the Lion King is a success with kids. But the rhythmic music and sophisticated story makes it an enjoyable production for grownups as well. Young adults will appreciate reminiscing of the first time they saw the film as young children. 2. Prize Winner The Lion King has been given a number of recognized awards, including eleven Drama Desk awards and six Tony awards. Additionally, it was nominated for a further five Tony awards. Any show that is the recipient of this amount of awards is obviously worth observing. 3. Brand new Songs Everybody is in love with the songs from the film version of the Lion King. A lot of the favourites from the movie are incorporated which you can sing along to, such as ‘Be Prepared,’ ‘Circle of Life,’ ‘I Just Can’t Wait To Be King,’ and ‘Hakuna Matata,’ are included in the West End stageshow. But there are also quite a few brand-new songs that were written for the musical edition. These brand new songs include ‘Endless Night,’ ‘Shadowland,’ and ‘One By One.’ 4. Beautiful Costumes One might wonder how a musical production of the Lion King is able to show creatures including giraffes and zebras while using human beings as actors. This feat was done along with the help of various excellent costume designers. It is interesting to see the costumes, which are simultaneously intricate and basic. The wonderful thing about these costumes is that they are able to to express human characteristics while holding onto important animalistic elements. This anthropomorphic balance between animal and human helps keep the story believable. 5. Unique Scenery There a range of complicated scenes in the Lion King that might not work without the use of sophisticated scenery and props. One such scene is the stampede, during which wildebeast props on rollers produce an effective feeling of danger together with the animals racing towards you giving the illusion of depth. Together with great music, lovely costumes and unique scenery, the Lion King musical is one of the most entertaining shows in decades. A must see for adults and children alike!
